Martín won his first Moto2 race at the Austrian Grand Prix. He then finished second at the Styrian Grand Prix. He missed two races due to illness. After returning, he finished the season strongly with a third place in Aragón and a victory in the second Valencian race. Martín achieved six podium finishes and ranked 5th in the championship.

Joining MotoGP (2021-Present)

Pramac Racing (2021–2024)

Jorge Martín became the 2024 MotoGP champion. He scored 508 points, beating his main rival. This was a historic achievement. He became the first rider from a satellite team to win the MotoGP world title. Before him, only factory team riders had won the title since 2002.

Aprilia Racing (2025–)

After the Italian Grand Prix, Martín announced he would move to Aprilia Racing. He signed a two-year deal with the Italian factory team. He took the place of his friend Aleix Espargaró, who retired from racing.

During pre-season testing, Martín had two accidents. He seriously injured his left wrist. This meant he missed the first three races of the 2025 season. He was replaced by Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori. Martín returned to racing at the Qatar GP.

In the Qatar GP, Martín crashed on lap 14. He was hit by another rider's bike. He suffered a fractured rib and a lung injury. Doctors found 11 fractured ribs and a developing lung problem. He needed chest drainage and stayed in the hospital in Qatar. He had to remain there until he was well enough to fly home.

After the Le Mans weekend, Martín said he planned to leave Aprilia at the end of 2025. This was a year before his contract ended. His contract had a clause that allowed him to leave if he was not in the title fight. Since he missed races due to injury, he was not in the title fight.

However, before his return to racing at round 12 in Brno, Martín changed his mind. He announced he would stay with Aprilia for 2026. This decision might have been influenced by strong results from another rider on the Aprilia bike. He confirmed his plans to the press.
