Jorge Antonio Zabaleta Briceño (born April 18, 1970, in Santiago, Chile) is a famous Chilean actor and TV presenter. He is known for his many roles in Chilean TV shows, especially telenovelas. His father, Antonio Zabaleta, and his uncle, Miguel Zabaleta, were both musicians in a group called Red Juniors.
Early Career and TV Shows
Jorge Zabaleta started his acting career at Canal 13, a well-known TV channel in Chile. He worked there until 2008. During this time, he starred in several popular shows.
In 2003, he played Alex Mercader in the telenovela Machos. This show was very successful and helped make him a household name. He also appeared in Brujas in 2005, playing Dante Ruiz. Another big role was Ricardo "Ricky" Montes in Papi Ricky in 2007, where he played a single dad.
Moving to New Channels
In 2008, Jorge moved to TVN, another major Chilean TV channel. His first show there was Hijos del Monte. He continued to star in many other TVN productions, like Los Angeles de Estela in 2009 and La Familia de al lado in 2010.
Later, he joined Mega, where he continued his successful acting career. Some of his notable roles at Mega include Ignacio Moreno in Sres. Papis (2016) and Nelson Peña in Si yo fuera rico (2018). His work has made him one of Chile's most recognized actors.
