About Josué de Castro
Josué de Castro was born in a city called Recife in Brazil. He taught at the University of Brazil, which is now known as UFRJ. He also led the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which helps countries with food and farming.
Besides his work as a doctor and teacher, he was also a member of the Brazilian parliament. This meant he helped make laws for his country. He was also a diplomat, representing Brazil in other countries.
