Joyce Elena Oladapo (born 11 February 1964) is a British retired long jumper. She was also known by her married name, Hepher. Joyce was a very talented athlete. She achieved great success in the long jump event.

Early Career and British Champion

Joyce Oladapo was born in London, England. In 1983, she competed in the WAAA Championships. This was a major athletics competition in Britain. She finished second in the long jump event. However, she was the highest-placed British athlete. This meant she became the British long jump champion that year.

Olympic Dreams and Friendship Games

In 1984, Joyce jumped far enough to qualify for the 1984 Summer Olympics. This was a huge achievement. But she made the qualifying jump just two days after the British team was chosen. So, she could not be selected for the Olympics. Instead, she competed in the Friendship Games in Prague. These games were for athletes from countries that did not go to the 1984 Olympics. She competed in the long jump there.

More WAAA Success
