Joyce Vincent Wilson (born December 14, 1946) is an American singer. She is most famous for being a member of the popular 1970s group Tony Orlando and Dawn. Her sister, Pamela Wilson, is also a talented singer.

A Singer's Journey

Joyce began her singing career in her hometown of Detroit. She sang background vocals for famous record labels like Motown and Golden World. Background vocalists are singers who provide harmony and support for the main singer on a song.

During this time, she became friends with another singer, Telma Hopkins. Together, they sang background vocals for the record labels Invictus and Hot Wax Records.

Rise to Fame with Tony Orlando and Dawn

A singer named Tony Orlando recorded the songs "Candida" and "Knock Three Times" using hired studio singers. When these songs became big hits, he needed a real group to go on tour and record more music with.

This is when Joyce Vincent Wilson and Telma Hopkins joined him. Together, they became the famous group Tony Orlando and Dawn. The group was so popular that they even had their own TV show.

With Dawn, Joyce sang on many hit singles. Some of their most famous songs include "He Don't Love You (Like I Love You)", "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree", and "Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose".

Working with Other Artists

Joyce's talent was well-known in the music world. At one point, she was considered to join the legendary group the Supremes. However, the group decided to stop performing in 1977.

In 1979, Joyce sang backup vocals on the album Partners. This was a duet album by singers Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene, who were former members of the Supremes.

Joyce and her sister Pamela also performed together as The Vincent Sisters. They often sang background vocals for Tony Orlando, especially during charity events like the Jerry Lewis Telethon.

Later Career and Performances

Joyce has continued to perform for many years. She often sings backup for her friend Scherrie Payne during her solo concerts.

In 2006, she and her sister Pamela sang at a 20th-anniversary concert for the group Former Ladies of the Supremes (FLOS). In 2007, she officially joined the group, replacing a previous member.

As a member of Tony Orlando and Dawn, Joyce was honored for her contributions to music. The group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2007.
