Juan Arias de Villar's Life

Juan Arias de Villar became a bishop in 1487. The King of Spain chose him for the role. Then, Pope Innocent VIII, who was the leader of the Catholic Church at the time, approved this choice. Juan Arias de Villar became the Bishop of Oviedo, another city in Spain. He held this position for many years, until 1498.

Becoming Bishop of Segovia

In 1498, Pope Alexander VI appointed Juan Arias de Villar to a new role. He became the Bishop of Segovia. This was another important position within the church. He continued to serve the church in Segovia until his death in 1501.
