Juan Carlos Arias Acosta (born December 3, 1964), also known as "Machete," is a famous cyclist from Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia. He is a two-time Olympian, meaning he competed in the Olympic Games twice for his country. Juan Carlos is also a Pan American Champion, which is a big win in sports events across the Americas.
He has raced in some of the world's biggest cycling events. These include the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, and the Road World Championship. Juan Carlos Arias is the only Colombian athlete to ever represent his country in two different sports at the Olympics! He has been riding bikes since 1982.
