Juan Carlos Calderón López de Arróyabe (born July 7, 1938 – died November 25, 2012) was a talented Spanish musician, songwriter, and producer. He was known for creating many popular songs for famous artists. He also wrote music for movies.

A Master of Melodies
Juan Carlos Calderón wrote many well-known songs. One of his most famous was "Eres tú." The group Mocedades sang this song. It came in second place at the Eurovision Song Contest 1973. "Eres tú" became a big hit in many countries, even in the United States.
Eurovision and Other Contests
He also wrote three other songs for the Eurovision Song Contest:
- "Tú volverás" for Sergio y Estíbaliz in 1975.
- "La fiesta terminó" for Paloma San Basilio in 1985.
- "Nacida para amar" for Nina in 1989.
He also wrote "Amor de medianoche" for the OTI Festival. This song was sung by Cecilia and came in second place in 1975.
