Juan Enguera was an important religious leader who lived a long time ago. He was born in Valencia, Spain, in the 1400s. He became a member of a special group of priests called the Dominican Order. This order focuses on teaching and preaching.

Enguera became a trusted advisor to King Ferdinand II of Aragon. He was the king's confessor, which meant he listened to the king's confessions and offered spiritual guidance.

Juan Enguera held several important positions during his life. He was appointed a Bishop in different cities.

Bishop Appointments

He became the Bishop of Vic on December 19, 1505. Later, he was made the Bishop of Lleida on December 9, 1510. His last bishop role was in Tortosa, starting on October 1, 1512.

Grand Inquisitor

Besides being a bishop, Juan Enguera had another very powerful role. He was the Grand Inquisitor of the Crown of Aragon from 1507 to 1513. The Grand Inquisitor was the head of the Spanish Inquisition in that region. This was a religious court that aimed to make sure everyone followed the rules of the Catholic Church.

Juan Enguera died in Valladolid, Spain, on February 14, 1513.
