Juan Hormaechea Cazón (born June 5, 1939 – died December 1, 2020) was an important Spanish politician. He served as the President of Cantabria, a region in Spain, two times. He was also the Mayor of Santander, a major city in Cantabria.

In 1991, Juan Hormaechea started his own political party. It was called the Union for the Progress of Cantabria (UPCA). He formed this party after leaving the larger People's Party of Cantabria. The UPCA party continued until it was dissolved in 2003.
