Early Life and Dreams
Juan Ricondo was born in Santander, Spain, on January 15, 1985. He is the oldest of two brothers. Juan was the first artist in his family. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a performer.
He studied law at the University of Cantabria. At the same time, he took acting classes. These classes were at the local acting school in Santander. Later, he moved to Madrid. There, he continued his acting studies at the "Chekhov Theatre School." Juan worked many different jobs. He also auditioned for films and TV shows. He even got a small part in the TV show Ugly Betty. During this time, he started singing with local bands. He played in clubs and pubs around Madrid. He also began writing his own songs. He shared his first songs on Myspace.
Music Career Beginnings
In 2005, Juan Ricondo received a special scholarship. This scholarship was from his hometown. It allowed him to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. While there, he became very interested in artists like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. He also enjoyed Dinah Washington.
Soon, Juan formed his own band. They started performing in clubs across Manhattan. One of his acting teachers, Paul Calderon, suggested he focus on music. Juan soon realized that music was his true passion. He even had a famous vocal teacher named Gary Catona.
In 2011, Juan was a guest performer. He sang at the Miss Germany 2011 beauty contest. In 2018, Ricondo presented his own show. It was called "The J.R Show, A Hollywood Story." This show took place at the "Teatro Calderon" in Madrid. It was inspired by American TV shows from the 1960s.
