Judith Chapman is an American actress born on November 15, 1951. She is well-known for her many roles in popular TV soap operas. Some of her most famous characters include Natalie Bannon Hughes in As the World Turns and Ginny Blake Webber in General Hospital. She also played Anjelica Deveraux on Days of Our Lives and Gloria Abbott Bardwell on The Young and the Restless.

About Judith Chapman's Life
Judith Chapman was born in Greenville, South Carolina. Her father, Leland C. Shepard Jr., was a brigadier general in the United States Air Force. Her older sister, Patty Shepard, was also an actress.
Starting Her Acting Journey
Judith began acting at a young age. She made her first appearance in a movie called Up the MacGregors! in 1967 when she was just 16. After high school, she studied theater at Stephens College. Then, she moved to New York City to join the Actors Studio. There, she started working in commercials and theater plays. In 1977, she appeared in her first American movie, a psychological film called False Face.
Her Career in Television Soaps
Judith Chapman has been a familiar face on daytime TV dramas since the mid-1970s. Her first big soap opera role was as Natalie Bannon on As the World Turns. She played this character from 1975 to 1978.
She also made guest appearances on many popular prime-time TV shows. These include Kojak, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, and Magnum, P.I.. She had recurring roles on Flamingo Road and The Fall Guy.
Notable Soap Opera Roles
In 1983, Judith joined Ryan's Hope as the mysterious Charlotte Greer. Her character was involved in a revenge plot against the Ryan family. The next year, she became part of General Hospital. She played Ginny Blake, the biological mother of Mike Webber. Her performance earned her a nomination for a Soap Opera Digest Award.
After General Hospital, she had a short role on One Life to Live as Sandra Montaigne. From 1989 to 1991, she played Anjelica Devereaux Curtis on Days of Our Lives. She returned to this role briefly in 2018.
Movies and Other TV Shows
Judith Chapman has also appeared in several movies. Some of these include And God Created Woman (1988) and 28 Days (2000). She was also in The Sweetest Thing (2002).
On television, she appeared in three episodes of Murder, She Wrote. She also played different characters five times on Silk Stalkings. In 2015, she starred in the comedy film Saugatuck Cures. More recently, in 2021, she played Nancy Reagan in the movie King Richard.
Her Time on The Young and the Restless
Judith Chapman first appeared on The Young and the Restless for a short time, filling in for another actress. In 2005, she officially joined the cast, taking over the role of Gloria Fisher. She played Gloria for many years, becoming a fan favorite.
In 2014, she even made a guest appearance as Gloria on The Bold and the Beautiful. She continued to appear on The Young and the Restless in 2015 and 2016. In 2019, she played Diana Cooper on Days of Our Lives for a couple of months. After that, she returned to The Young and the Restless, where she continues to appear.
