Julcán is a tall mountain in Peru. It stands about 4,900 meters (16,076 feet) high. This makes it one of the many impressive peaks in the Andes mountain range. The name "Julcán" might come from the Quechua language. In Quechua, qullqa means a deposit or storehouse, and -n is a suffix.

Where is Julcán Mountain?
Julcán is found in the Lima Region of Peru. Specifically, it is in the Cajatambo Province, within the Cajatambo District. This area is known for its rugged and beautiful mountain landscapes.
Part of the Huayhuash Range
Julcán is part of the Huayhuash mountain range. The Huayhuash range is a smaller part of the much larger Andes mountains. The Andes stretch along the western side of South America. The Huayhuash range is famous for its stunning peaks and deep valleys.
Julcán's Location in the Range
Julcán is located on a sub-range. This means it's on a smaller ridge of mountains that branches off the main Huayhuash range. It lies to the west of the main peaks. You can find it southwest of another mountain called Mitopunta. It is also southeast of Huacshash. To the north of Julcán is the Pumarinri valley.
