The London Eye is Julia Barfield's most famous project. In 1993, there was a competition to design a new landmark for the year 2000. Julia and David submitted their idea for the London Eye. Their design did not win the competition. However, they decided to build it anyway!

They finished building the London Eye in March 2000. It cost about £85 million. Julia Barfield once said, "The best thing about the Eye is the journey." She meant that the ride itself is just as important as the amazing view from the top.
