About Julia Gordon's Journey
Julia Gordon earned her PhD, which is a very high university degree, in 2003. She studied at the University of Michigan. Her main teachers were Thomas C. Hales and Robert Griess. Her special project for her PhD was about how to use "motivic integration" to understand "representation theory" of "P-adic groups."
After finishing her PhD, she continued her research. She worked at the University of Toronto and the Fields Institute. In 2006, she joined the University of British Columbia. She is now an associate professor there. This means she teaches and does research at the university.
