While at RPI, Julie met her husband, Phil Berry. They got married in 1995 and have four sons together. For many years, their family lived in Maynard, Massachusetts, near Boston. They later moved to Temple City, California.
A Writer's Journey

In 2021, Julie and her family moved back to her hometown of Medina, New York. She bought a local bookstore called The Book Shoppe. She fixed it up and gave it a new name: The Author's Note.
