About Julieta Valero
Julieta studied at the Complutense University of Madrid. She earned a degree in Hispanic Philology. This means she studied Spanish language and literature. She also continued her studies there.
She has written many short stories, poems, and articles. These have appeared in various literary magazines. Some of these include Ínsula, Turia, and Minerva. She also works with magazines like Encubierta and Literaturas.
Julieta's work has been included in many poetry collections. These are called anthologies. Some examples are Inéditos: 11 poetas and 11-M. Poemas contra el olvido. Her poems have been translated into several languages. These include English, French, Italian, and German.
She has also given many talks and attended poetry festivals. She visited the Festival de Poesía de Medellín in Colombia. She also took part in the Encuentro de Poetas del Mundo Latino in Mexico.
For five years, Julieta co-hosted a radio show. It was called A ras de verso on Radio Círculo. On this show, she interviewed poets from Spain and Latin America. She also works as an editor at Hotel Kafka. This is a creative writing center. Since 2008, she has been a coordinator. She works at the José Hierro Poetry Centre Foundation.
In 2011, Julieta joined a special project. She helped create a Spanish version of a famous book. The book was Hundred Thousand Billion Poems by Raymond Queneau. This new version was called Cien mil millones de poemas. It allowed readers to mix and match lines from different poems. This created many new poems.

Awards and Prizes
Julieta Valero has won several awards for her writing.
- She won the XVIII Premio de Poesía (Poetry prize).
- She also won the XVIII Premio de Cuentos (Tales prize). These were given by C.M.U. Isabel de España in 1997.
- She was nominated for the Premio Adonáis de Poesía in 1998 and 1999.
- She received the IV Premio de Poesía Joven de Radio 3 in 2005. This was for her book Los heridos graves.
- Her book Autoría won two awards. It received the XXII Premio de Poesía in 2009. It also won the Premio Ausiás March in 2010.
