Julio Andrés Borges Junyent (born 22 October 1969) is a Venezuelan politician and lawyer. He was born in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. Before becoming a well-known politician, he had a TV show in the late 1990s. The show was called "Justicia Para Todos" (Justice for Everyone) and aired on Radio Caracas Televisión.
In 2000, Julio Borges helped start a political party called Primero Justicia (Justice First). He founded this party with other important figures like Henrique Capriles Radonski and Leopoldo Lopez.

Julio Borges's Political Journey
Julio Borges began his career in the National Assembly in 2000. He was elected to represent his party, Primero Justicia, and the state of Miranda. He served in this role until 2005.
In 2005, his party decided not to take part in the parliamentary elections. However, Julio Borges was elected again in the parliamentary elections of 2010. This showed his continued support among voters.
In 2006, Borges considered running for president in the Venezuelan presidential elections. He participated in the opposition primaries. But on August 9, 2006, he decided to step aside. He chose to support Manuel Rosales, who was the former governor of Zulia State, instead.
In April 2013, a strong disagreement happened in the National Assembly. This was after the 2013 Venezuelan presidential election. Different political groups had heated discussions. Julio Borges stated that members of another party, PSUV, confronted the opposition.
Julio Borges's Education
Julio Borges is a highly educated person. He studied law at the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Venezuela. He finished his law degree in 1992.
After that, he continued his studies abroad. He earned a master's degree in philosophy from Boston College in the United States in 1994. Later, in 1996, he received another master's degree in public policy from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Julio Borges is married and has four children.
Legal Matters and Public Statements
In 2020, the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela issued a statement regarding Julio Borges. They mentioned his alleged involvement in certain events. These events included a drone incident in Caracas in 2018.
On July 13, 2020, the Attorney General's Office also made a public announcement. They stated that they were looking into allegations against Borges. These allegations included claims of disloyalty and misusing public roles.
Later, on January 16, 2023, the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, made another announcement. He stated that the Public Ministry had requested further investigation into Borges. This was related to his alleged participation in events on April 30, 2019.
