Julio Andrés Borges Junyent was born on October 22, 1969, in Caracas, Venezuela. He is a Venezuelan politician and a lawyer. Before becoming a well-known politician, he had his own TV show in the late 1990s called "Justicia Para Todos" (Justice for Everyone) on a channel called Radio Caracas Televisión.
In 2000, Julio Borges helped start a political party called Primero Justicia (Justice First). He founded this party with Henrique Capriles Radonski and Leopoldo Lopez, who are also important figures in Venezuelan politics.

Julio Borges's Political Journey
Julio Borges began his political career by being elected to the National Assembly in the year 2000. He represented his party, Primero Justicia, and the state of Miranda. He served in this role until 2005.
Returning to the National Assembly
In 2005, his party did not take part in the elections. However, Julio Borges was elected again to the National Assembly in the parliamentary elections of 2010. This showed his continued involvement in Venezuelan politics.
Presidential Campaign and Public Service
In 2006, Borges wanted to become president of Venezuela. He ran in the primary elections for the opposition parties. However, on August 9, 2006, he decided to step down and support another candidate, Manuel Rosales. Rosales was the former governor of Zulia State.
In April 2013, Julio Borges was involved in an event in the National Assembly. After the 2013 presidential election, some disagreements led to a heated moment between different political groups.
Education and Family Life
Julio Borges studied law at the Andrés Bello Catholic University and finished his degree in 1992. He continued his studies abroad, earning a master's degree in philosophy from Boston College in 1994. Later, in 1996, he received another master's degree in public policy from the University of Oxford in England.
Julio Borges is married and has four children.
Awards and Recognition
In 2017, Julio Borges was awarded the Sakharov Prize. This is a very important award given by the European Parliament to people who have made great efforts for human rights and freedom.
