June Gable (born June 5, 1945) is an American actress. She is well-known for playing Joey's funny agent, Estelle Leonard, in the popular TV show Friends. She also appeared as a nurse in an early episode of Friends. June Gable was even nominated for a special award called a Tony Award for her work on Broadway.

June Gable learned how to act at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. This is a famous school for performing arts.

Her Work on Broadway

June Gable has performed in four big shows on Broadway. Broadway is a famous theater district in New York City.

  • In 1974, she was in a show called Candide. She played the Old Lady and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. This is a very important award for theater actors.
  • She also appeared in Moose Murders in 1983. This show opened and closed on the same night, which means it wasn't very successful.
  • In 1975, she took over a role in a play called The Ritz.

From 1994 to 2004, June Gable played Estelle Leonard on the NBC sitcom Friends. Estelle was the agent for Matt LeBlanc's character, Joey Tribbiani. Her character passed away in the show's tenth and final season in 2004. June Gable also played a nurse in an earlier episode of Friends in season 1.

After Friends ended, June Gable decided to retire from acting. She explained that she wanted to take care of someone she loved who was very ill. Even after retiring from screen acting, she still performed in some plays like The Odd Couple, Picon Pie, and Broads!. In 2012, she starred in a new play called "All Hallowed" in Texas.
