Meet Ronan Kealy, also known as Junior Brother! He's an Irish singer-songwriter from County Kerry, born in 1993. He plays a type of music called alternative folk.

Early Life and Education

Ronan Kealy grew up in County Kerry, Ireland. He went to St Brendan's College, Killarney. Later, he studied English at University College Cork and Ballyfermot College of Further Education.

Music Career

In 2014, Junior Brother moved to Dublin to start his music career. His stage name, Junior Brother, comes from a character in an old play called The Revenger's Tragedy.

He quickly became known for his unique music. In 2018, RTÉ (a big Irish media company) called him one of their "Rising Irish Stars". The next year, The Irish Times newspaper said he was one of the "Irish music contenders ready to break through".

His first album, Pull The Right Rope, was a big success. It was even nominated for the Choice Music Prize, which is a major music award in Ireland! Music critics liked it too. One review said his songs were "the real deal," full of interesting stories and observations. Another described the album as "a masterclass in the sheer joy of creation."

Junior Brother also appeared on popular TV shows. In March 2019, he was on The Tommy Tiernan Show. In April 2020, he performed on Other Voices (Irish TV series).
