Early Life and High School Basketball
Justin Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up playing basketball. He went to Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois. There, he played for his high school basketball team.
College Basketball Journey
After high school, Justin continued his basketball career in college. From 2002 to 2004, he played for Colby Community College. Later, from 2004 to 2006, he joined the Wyoming Cowboys at the University of Wyoming.
Professional Basketball Career
Justin Williams started his professional career in 2006. He was not chosen by an NBA team in the draft. Instead, he began playing in the NBA Development League, which is now called the G League.
Starting in the NBA D-League
Justin first played for the Dakota Wizards. He quickly showed his skills. In 12 games, he averaged 12.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 3.08 blocks per game. His strong performance caught the eye of NBA teams.
Time in the NBA
On January 5, 2007, the Sacramento Kings signed Justin to a short contract. After his first two contracts ended, the Kings signed him for the rest of the season. He played for them for a while.
Later, in February 2008, the Kings let Justin go. This was part of a trade that sent another player, Mike Bibby, to the Atlanta Hawks. On March 7, the Houston Rockets signed Justin for 10 days. He played in one game for them.
Justin also had tryouts with other NBA teams. He joined the Golden State Warriors for training camp in September 2008. He played in two pre-season games but was later released. A month later, the Charlotte Bobcats signed him. However, they also released him after three pre-season games.
Playing Around the World
In 2012, Justin returned to the NBA D-League. He played one game for the Los Angeles D-Fenders. In 2013, he moved to the Philippines. He played for GlobalPort Batang Pier and then for the San Miguel Beermen.
From 2014 to 2015, Justin played for the Saigon Heat. He then moved to Argentina. He joined Ciclista Olímpico in 2015 and played there until 2018. He also played for Guaros de Lara and San Lorenzo.
