University of Wyoming facts for kids
The University of Wyoming is a big public school. It is located in Laramie, Wyoming. This school started in 1886. Today, over 13,000 students study here. The person in charge of the university is Tom Buchanan. Many people have studied at the University of Wyoming, including famous people like Dick Cheney.
Sports Teams: Go Pokes!
The sports teams at the university are very popular! The men's teams are called the Cowboys. The women's teams are called the Cowgirls. Everyone often calls them the "Pokes."
The university has 17 different sports teams. They compete in a group called the Mountain West Conference. This means they play against other schools in that conference.
