College Basketball Career

Starting at Hofstra

Hofstra coach Joe Mihalich first saw Justin Wright-Foreman at a basketball tournament. Justin scored an amazing 48 points in one game! Because of this, the coach offered him a scholarship to play for Hofstra.

When he was a freshman, Justin did not play much. This was because his defense needed to get better. But in his second year, he had a big game against Kentucky. Even though his team lost, Justin scored 14 points. After that game, his scoring average went up a lot. He finished the season averaging 18.5 points per game.

Becoming a Star Player

As a junior, Justin became one of the best scorers in college basketball. He averaged 24.2 points per game, which was the fifth-highest in NCAA Division I. He also helped his team by getting 3.1 assists per game. This was ninth-best in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). He scored more than 30 points in seven different games that season.

At the end of the regular season, Justin was named the CAA Player of the Year. After this great season, Justin thought about joining the 2018 NBA draft. However, he did not hire an agent. This meant he could still play for his college team if he decided not to go pro yet.

Senior Year Success

Before his senior season began, Justin was again named the Preseason CAA Player of the Year. This meant people expected him to have another great year. On February 9, 2019, Justin had an incredible game. He scored 48 points in a win against William & Mary. This tied a school record for the most points in a single game. Scoring those points also meant Justin had scored over 2,000 points in his college career! For the second year in a row, he was named CAA Player of the Year for the 2018–19 season.
