KJ Smith, whose full name is Khaneshia Smith, is an American actress. She was born on May 6, 1985. Many people know her best for playing Andrea "Andi" Barnes in the TV show Sistas.
Growing Up and School
KJ Smith grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. When she was in high school, she was very active! She was a cheerleader and also played softball.
After high school, she went to Florida State University. There, she studied Business Marketing and earned her college degree. For a while, she worked in the business world. Later, she decided to go back to school to learn more. She studied journalism at Florida A&M University.
Her Acting Journey
KJ Smith started her acting career in 2009. At first, she appeared in short films and had small roles in TV shows. Some of these early appearances were on popular talk shows like Conan and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She also appeared in comedy shows like Real Husbands of Hollywood and Comedy Bang! Bang!.
She also had guest roles in many sitcoms, which are funny TV shows. These included Survivor's Remorse, Mann & Wife, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Black-ish. In 2015, she was in a TV movie called Whitney. The next year, she had a repeating role in a drama series on the Oprah Winfrey Network called Queen Sugar.
In 2017, KJ Smith had another repeating role in the first season of Dynasty, a comedy-drama show. She also made guest appearances on shows like Being Mary Jane, Saints & Sinners, and Ozark. From 2019 to 2021, KJ Smith was a star in the BET family drama series The Family Business. In 2019, she got her biggest role yet! She started playing Andrea "Andi" Barnes in the BET comedy-drama series Sistas. She acts alongside Ebony Obsidian, Novi Brown, and Mignon Von in this show. In 2022, she also had a repeating role in the second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which is a show on STARZ.

KJ Smith is married to actor Skyh Alvester Black. He is also an actor and even co-stars with her on the show Sistas.
