Kandace's Early Life

Kandace Springs was born in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, in 1989. Her dad, Scat Springs, was also a singer. He worked as a session singer in Nashville. Kandace started playing the piano when she was just ten years old.

She grew up listening to famous jazz and soul singers. One of her biggest inspirations was Nina Simone. Kandace became well-known online for her cover of Sam Smith's song Stay with Me.

Starting Her Music Career

Kandace moved to New York City to work with music producers Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers. She believes that music can truly connect with people. She feels it can share important messages and help keep the world feeling positive.

In 2014, Kandace released her first music collection, called an EP. It was self-titled, Kandace Springs, and came out on the famous Blue Note Records label. Love Got in the Way was her very first music video.
