The Story of Kandit

How it All Started

Kandit started a long time ago in 1920. Its first name was "Prva osječka tvornica kandita Kaiser i Stark." That means "First Osijek Candy Factory Kaiser and Stark."

The company got permission from a famous chocolate factory in Vienna to make chocolate. Soon, they were also making tasty wafers and other candies.

Growing Big

Kandit made a lot of candy in the 1960s. They produced thousands of tons of bonbons in just one year! This was when Croatia was part of a country called Yugoslavia.

In 2009, Kandit opened a brand new part of their factory. It had modern machines and ways of making candy. This helped them make even more delicious products.

Joining the Mepas Group

In 2011, a company named Mepas bought Kandit. Mepas is from a city called Široki Brijeg. They bring many different brands to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mepas became the full owner of Kandit. Kandit then joined the Mepas Group of companies. This helped Kandit continue to make and sell its popular sweets.
