Kandy Kennedy, born on February 17, 1996, is an Australian rugby league player. She plays for the Glebe Dirty Reds in the NSWRL Women's Premiership. Before that, she played for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL Women's Premiership.

Kandy was born in Sydney, Australia. She grew up in Bathurst, New South Wales. Rugby league runs in her family! Her father, William Kennedy, played many games for the Balmain Tigers. Her brother, William Kennedy Jr, also plays rugby. He is currently with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

Kandy's Rugby Journey

Kandy started playing rugby at a young age. In 2013, when she was just 16, she played for the Indigenous All Stars team. She played for them again in 2014. In that game, she started as a winger against the Women's All Stars.

In 2017, Kandy played for the Indigenous All Stars for the third time. During this game, she had a serious injury. She tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her knee. This type of injury can take a long time to heal.

Playing for the Roosters

In 2018, Kandy joined the Sydney Roosters team. They play in the NRL Women's Premiership. She made her first appearance for the Roosters in Round 3 of the 2018 NRL Women's season. The Roosters won that game 26–0 against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Later that year, on September 30, 2018, Kandy played in the Grand Final. She came off the bench as a substitute. The Roosters played against the Brisbane Broncos but unfortunately lost the game.

Recent Teams

On February 15, 2019, Kandy played for the Indigenous All Stars again. This time, she started as a lock forward. Her team played against the Maori All Stars and lost by a small score of 4–8.

In 2019 and 2020, Kandy played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. She was part of their team in the NSWRL Women's Premiership.

In 2021, Kandy joined the Glebe Dirty Reds. This was their first season in the NSWRL Women's Premiership.
