Kannard Johnson was born and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He loved playing basketball from a young age. His talent led him to play college basketball at Western Kentucky University.
College Success at Western Kentucky
At Western Kentucky, Kannard Johnson became a very important player. He helped make the basketball team much stronger. He started every game for four years.
Johnson led his team to win their first ever Sun Belt Conference basketball championship. The team also reached a top ten national ranking. They finished second in a big pre-season tournament called the NIT Season Tip-Off. He also helped the team play in the NCAA tournament two years in a row.
Playing in the NBA
After college, Kannard Johnson was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played in four games for the Cavaliers during the 1987–88 NBA season. In total, he scored 2 points in the 12 minutes he played.
