Karan Higdon (born September 8, 1996) is a former American football running back. He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines. He was chosen twice as an All-Big Ten player.

Early Life and High School Football
Karan Higdon grew up in Sarasota, Florida. He went to Riverview High School there. In high school, he ran for 1,471 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. He first planned to play for Iowa, but later decided to join the Michigan Wolverines instead.
College Football Career
Starting Out at Michigan
Karan started playing for Michigan in 2015. In his first year, he played in three games. In 2016, his second year, he played in 12 games. He had two games where he ran for over 100 yards. He finished that season with 425 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Becoming a Star Running Back
During the 2017 season, Karan became Michigan's top runner. He gained 994 yards that year. On October 14, 2017, he had an amazing game, running for 200 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He was the first Michigan running back to run for 200 yards in a game since 2007.
Later that season, he had another 200-yard game. This made him the first Michigan player since 2004 to have two such games in one season. Because of his great play, he was named the Co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. After the 2017 season, he was named to the All-Big Ten third-team.
Record-Breaking Senior Year
In 2018, Karan continued to shine. He had several games where he ran for over 100 yards. He even scored the winning touchdown in a game against Northwestern. He also reached a big milestone, running for over 2,000 yards in his college career.
Karan had a streak of seven games in a row where he ran for over 100 yards. This was the second-longest streak in Michigan's history. He also became the first Michigan player since 2012 to run for over 1,000 yards in a single season.
He finished the 2018 season with 1,178 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. He scored at least one touchdown in eight of his 11 games. After the season, he was named to the All-Big Ten first-team. Karan decided not to play in Michigan's bowl game to get ready for the 2019 NFL draft.
Professional Football Career
Karan Higdon joined the Houston Texans in 2019 after the 2019 NFL draft. He was not drafted by a team but signed with them as a free agent. The Texans later moved him to their practice squad. He signed a new contract with the Texans in January 2020. However, he was waived by the Texans in September 2020.
