Kareem Streete-Thompson was born on March 30, 1973. He is a talented athlete from both the Cayman Islands and the United States. He is best known for his skills in two exciting track and field events: the long jump and the 100 metres sprint.
Even though Kareem was born in Ithaca, New York, he spent his first 18 years growing up in the Cayman Islands. This is why he has represented both countries in his career. He first competed for the Cayman Islands, then for the United States, and from 1999, he proudly represented the Cayman Islands again.

Kareem's Early Career and College Success
Kareem showed great promise in athletics from a young age. He competed for the Rice Owls track and field team in college. There, he won two national titles in the long jump, which is a huge achievement!
He also won the special Austin Sealy Trophy twice. This award is given to the most outstanding athlete at the CARIFTA Games. He earned it in both 1989 and 1990, showing how talented he was even as a young athlete.

Kareem Streete-Thompson has competed in many big international events. These include the Olympic Games and the World Championships.
Olympic Games Appearances
Kareem participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. He competed in the 100 metres race. He did very well in his first race, finishing second and setting his best time for that season. He then moved on to the next round.

- Bronze Medal at the 1990 World Junior Championships in Athletics in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, for the long jump.
