Karen Percy Lowe (born October 10, 1966) is a famous Canadian former alpine skier. She was born in Banff, Alberta, a beautiful town in Canada. Karen is best known for winning two bronze medals in skiing at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada.

At those Olympic Games, she was also chosen to be Canada's flag bearer during the closing ceremony. This is a big honor! Karen competed in many races during her career. She took part in 107 World Cup races and finished in the top 10 twenty-five times. She also competed in four World Championships and won seven Canadian National Championships in a row from 1983 to 1989. She retired from the National team in August 1990.

Achievements and Awards

Karen Percy received some very important awards for her achievements. In 1988, she was given the Order of Canada. This is one of the highest honors a Canadian citizen can receive. It recognizes people who have made a big difference to Canada.

In 1989, she also received an Olympic Champion award. This award was given at an event called "The Tribute to the Champions." It celebrated her success at the Olympic Games.

Personal Life

Karen Percy is married to Kevin Lowe. Kevin is a former hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers. He is currently the Director of Hockey for the Edmonton Oilers.

Karen and Kevin have a son named Keegan Lowe. Keegan also plays hockey! He is currently playing with the Växjö Lakers in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
