Karen Percy Lowe, born on October 10, 1966, is a famous Canadian alpine skier. She grew up in Banff, Alberta. Karen became well-known for winning two bronze medals in skiing. This happened at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada. She also had the special honor of being Canada's flag bearer at the closing ceremony of those Olympic Games.
Karen was a top athlete for many years. She competed in 107 races on the World Cup circuit. She finished in the top 10 in 25 of those races. She also took part in four World Championships. Two of these were Junior World Championships. From 1983 to 1989, she won seven Canadian National Championships in a row. She retired from the National team in August 1990.

Becoming a Member of the Order of Canada
In 1988, Karen Percy received a very important award. She became a Member of the Order of Canada. This is one of the highest honors a Canadian citizen can receive. It recognizes people who have made a big difference to Canada.
Olympic Champion Award
The next year, in 1989, Karen was honored again. She received an Olympic Champion award. This was given to her at an event called "The Tribute to the Champions." It celebrated her amazing achievements in sports.

Karen Percy is married to Kevin Lowe. He is a former player for the Edmonton Oilers ice hockey team. Today, he works as the Director of Hockey for the Edmonton Oilers.
Her Son, Keegan Lowe
Karen and Kevin have a son named Keegan Lowe. Keegan followed in his father's footsteps. He is also a professional hockey player. As of July 2025, Keegan plays for the Växjö Lakers. This team is part of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
