Karen Pittman is a talented American actress. She started her acting journey with small parts in popular TV shows. You might have seen her in shows like 30 Rock, Law & Order, and House of Cards.
Later, she got bigger roles that appeared regularly. She was in The Americans from 2014 to 2016 and Luke Cage from 2016 to 2018. Karen became very well-known for playing Mia Jordan in the Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show, which started in 2019. She also played Dr. Nya Wallace in the HBO Max comedy-drama, And Just Like That... from 2021 to 2023. Karen Pittman was born in Mississippi. She grew up in Nashville, Tennessee.
She studied at two different universities. First, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University. Then, she went on to get a Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. This shows she worked hard to learn her craft!
Her Acting Career
Karen Pittman has played many interesting characters. In 2012, she acted as Jory in a play called Disgraced at Lincoln Center. She also appeared in TV shows like The Americans on FX Network, where she played Lisa. On Netflix, she was Inspector Priscilla Ridley in Luke Cage.
Since 2019, Karen has been a main star in The Morning Show on Apple TV+. She plays Mia Jordan. For her work on this show, she and the other actors were nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2022 and 2024. In 2023, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the show's third season.
