About Karin Dor
Karin Dor was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. She started acting in movies when she was young. She became very well-known for her roles in German films.
Her Early Career
Karin Dor starred in many German movies. A lot of these films were based on books by authors like Edgar Wallace and Karl May. These movies were often directed by Harald Reinl, who was her first husband.
Becoming a Global Star
Karin Dor became famous worldwide when she acted in two big international films. First, she was in the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice in 1967. She played a character named Helga Brandt. Two years later, she appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock film Topaz (1969). These roles made her a recognizable face to audiences everywhere.
Later Life and Work
In her later years, Karin Dor mostly performed in stage plays. She was in a play called Man liebt nur dreimal ("You Only Love Thrice") in Munich in 2008. Even though she focused on theater, she still acted in some films.
Karin Dor was married three times. Her last husband was George Robotham, an American stunt director. They were married from 1988 until he passed away in 2007. They lived in both Los Angeles and Munich. She had one child from her first marriage to Harald Reinl.
Her Final Years

In July 2016, while on vacation, Karin Dor had an accident. A woman with a stroller accidentally bumped into her, causing her to fall backward onto concrete. She got a head wound that needed stitches. For about an hour, she also lost her memory. Doctors initially thought her injuries were not serious.
However, weeks later, while rehearsing for a play, she started having headaches and felt very tired. Doctors then realized her injuries were more serious than they first thought. Even months after the accident, she still felt the effects. Despite this, Karin Dor stayed positive and kept working as an actress, even though her doctors advised her to rest.
She continued to perform on stage in Munich in late 2016. Around this time, she began to have trouble moving her right leg. In early 2017, her health suddenly got worse. By March 2017, her condition rapidly declined, and she moved into a care home. Karin Dor passed away on 6 November 2017, at the age of 79.
