Karlkurla is a small area, or 'locality', in the Eastern Goldfields part of Western Australia. It's like a neighborhood within the larger city of Kalgoorlie–Boulder.
In 2016, about 177 people lived there. This was a big jump from just 42 people in 2011! The name Karlkurla, and also Kalgoorlie, comes from an Aboriginal word. It means 'silky pear', which is a type of plant (silky pear) found in the area.

Where is Karlkurla?
Karlkurla is located on the north-western edge of Kalgoorlie. It's mostly open bushland, which means lots of natural areas. It shares borders with other suburbs like Hannans to the east and Binduli to the southwest.
What's in Karlkurla?
There's a small part of Karlkurla where people live. This residential area has a few dozen houses. It is located close to the eastern border with Hannans.
- Kalgoorlie Golf Course: To the west of the houses, you'll find the Kalgoorlie Golf Course. It's a large green space for playing golf.
- Industrial Area: There is also a small industrial area in the southern part of Karlkurla.
- Bushland: Most of Karlkurla is uncleared bushland. This means it's still wild and natural, full of local plants and animals.
Even though it's called the Karlkurla Bushland Park, this popular spot is actually in the nearby suburb of Hannans. It's a great place to explore nature!
