Karub District, also called Kharro or Karuo, is a special area in Qamdo, which is part of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. It's like the main office for the government of Qamdo.
Karub District covers a large area of about 10,700 square kilometers. Imagine a space bigger than many cities! Around 78,000 people live here, and most of them (about 90%) are Tibetan.

What's the Weather Like?
The weather in Karub District is generally cool. The average temperature for the whole year is about 7.6 degrees Celsius. In January, which is the coldest month, the average temperature drops to around -2.3 degrees Celsius. But in July, the warmest month, it can reach about 16.3 degrees Celsius. The district also gets about 467 millimeters of rain each year.
What Can You See and Do?
Karub District is a great place for visitors! One popular spot is the Galden Jampaling Monastery. A monastery is a special building where monks live and practice their religion. This one is located in the main town of the district.
You can also visit the salt mines and hot springs in a place called Yangjing. Salt mines are where people dig for salt, and hot springs are natural pools of warm water that come from underground. They are often very relaxing!

Karub District is divided into smaller parts to help manage everything. It has 3 main towns and 12 smaller areas called townships. Each of these places has its own unique features and people.
