Karyala is a village in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. It is also a union council, which is like a local administrative area. Karyala is part of the Chakwal District and sits on top of the Surla hills.
This part of Pakistan is sometimes called Dhani, which means "rich". This name might come from the area's natural resources. Not far from Karyala, you can find the famous Khewra Salt Mines. These are some of the oldest salt mines in the world! There are also coal mines nearby in a place called Dandot.
Where is Karyala Located?
Karyala is about ten kilometres (about 6 miles) away from the city of Chakwal. You can find it on the road that leads to the interesting Katas Raj Temple Complex.
