Katherine Margaret Ellis, born on September 22, 1977, is an Australian politician who used to work in the government. She was a member of the Australian House of Representatives for the Australian Labor Party. She represented the area called the Division of Adelaide from 2004 to 2019. During her time in government, she held many important jobs, known as "portfolios." After the Labor government, she was part of the "shadow cabinet," which is a group of opposition politicians who watch over the government. In 2017, Kate Ellis decided to leave politics and did not run in the 2019 federal election.
