Acting Career
First Roles
Before becoming a star, Jackson worked as a tour guide for the NBC television network in New York. In 1971, she also starred in the movie Night of Dark Shadows, which was based on the show.
From 1972 to 1976, Jackson played nurse Jill Danko in the police drama The Rookies. The show followed the lives of young police officers. While working on the series, she became interested in directing and editing. She also acted in a few TV movies during this time.
Becoming a Star with 'Charlie's Angels'
In 1975, the producers of The Rookies offered Jackson a role in a new show about three female private detectives. Jackson suggested they call the show Charlie's Angels. She was first offered the role of Kelly Garrett, but she chose to play Sabrina Duncan instead.
