Bruce William Boxleitner (born May 12, 1950) is an American actor and writer. He is famous for his many roles in TV shows and movies. You might know him from the TV series How the West Was Won or Scarecrow and Mrs. King.
He is also well-known for playing Alan Bradley and Tron in the Disney movie Tron (1982). He played these characters again in the sequel Tron: Legacy (2010) and in video games like Tron 2.0. Bruce Boxleitner has also written exciting science fiction books.

Early Life and Education
Bruce Boxleitner was born on May 12, 1950, in Elgin, Illinois. He went to Prospect High School. Later, he studied acting at the Goodman School of Drama. This school is part of the Art Institute of Chicago and is now at DePaul University.
Acting Career
Bruce Boxleitner has had a long and successful career in both television and movies. He is known for playing strong and memorable characters.
Television Roles
Bruce Boxleitner has starred in many popular TV series. He played leading roles in shows like How the West Was Won. He was also in Bring 'Em Back Alive.
A very famous role was Lee "Scarecrow" Stetson in Scarecrow and Mrs. King. In this show, he worked alongside actress Kate Jackson. He also played Captain John Sheridan in the science fiction series Babylon 5 from 1994 to 1998.
He appeared in several TV movies based on Babylon 5. These include Babylon 5: In the Beginning and Babylon 5: A Call to Arms. Bruce also played Billy Montana in The Gambler TV films with Kenny Rogers.
You might have seen him in guest roles on other shows. He was in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Gunsmoke. He also appeared in Tales from the Crypt and Touched by an Angel. In recent years, he was in NCIS and Supergirl. In Supergirl, he played President Phillip Baker.

Bruce Boxleitner is well-known for his role in the Disney film Tron (1982). He played both Alan Bradley and the title character, Tron. He came back to play these roles in the sequel Tron: Legacy (2010).
He has also been in other movies. He played Confederate General James Longstreet in the 2003 film Gods and Generals. He also lent his voice to the animated film Dead Space: Downfall. Other films include Kuffs, The Babe, and Shadows in Paradise.
In 2015, Bruce mentioned he was taking a break from the Tron movies. He felt the journey with the franchise had been "up and down."

He has also been involved in audio books. He played a role in The Great Secret and Captain Gavin Blaire in World War Z.
Personal Life
Bruce Boxleitner has been married three times. His first marriage was to actress Kathryn Holcomb. They had two sons together. Kathryn also played his on-screen sister in How The West Was Won.
His second marriage was to actress Melissa Gilbert. They have one son, born in 1995. Melissa Gilbert also appeared as his on-screen wife in Babylon 5. They divorced in 2011.
In 2003, Bruce Boxleitner joined the Board of Governors of the National Space Society. This is a group that supports space exploration. He is currently married to publicist Verena King.
