Bruce William Boxleitner (born May 12, 1950) is an American actor and writer. He is famous for his roles in many TV shows and movies. You might know him as Alan Bradley or Tron from the Tron films. He also played Lee Stetson in Scarecrow and Mrs. King and Captain John Sheridan in Babylon 5.

Early Life and Education
Bruce Boxleitner was born on May 12, 1950, in Elgin, Illinois. He went to Prospect High School. Later, he studied acting at the Goodman School of Drama. This school is now part of DePaul University.
Acting Career
Bruce Boxleitner has had a long and successful career in both television and movies. He is known for playing strong and memorable characters.
Television Roles
Bruce Boxleitner is well-known for his main roles in several popular TV series. He starred in How the West Was Won. He also played Frank Buck in Bring 'Em Back Alive.
One of his most famous roles was Lee "Scarecrow" Stetson in Scarecrow and Mrs. King. He acted alongside Kate Jackson in this spy adventure show. From 1994 to 1998, he played Captain John Sheridan in the science fiction series Babylon 5.
He also appeared in TV films like The Gambler with Kenny Rogers. In 2005, he was Captain Martin Duvall in Young Blades. Bruce also starred in several movies based on the Babylon 5 universe. These include Babylon 5: In the Beginning and Babylon 5: The Lost Tales.
Bruce has made guest appearances on many other TV shows. These include The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Gunsmoke, and Tales from the Crypt. He was also in Touched by an Angel and The Outer Limits. He played Governor Robert Malden in Heroes. He was also in Chuck as the father of Devon Woodcomb.
More recently, he voiced Tron in the animated series Tron: Uprising. He also played Bob Beldon in the Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove. From 2018 to 2019, he played President Phillip Baker in Supergirl. Since 2019, he has had a role in The Matchmaker Mysteries films.

Bruce Boxleitner has appeared in many movies. His most famous film role is Alan Bradley and Tron in the 1982 Disney film Tron. He returned to this role in the sequel Tron: Legacy in 2010. He also voiced Tron in video games like Tron 2.0 and Kingdom Hearts II.
He played Confederate General James Longstreet in the 2003 film Gods and Generals. He also voiced Colin Barrow in the animated film Dead Space: Downfall. Other films include Kuffs, The Babe, and Shadows in Paradise.
In 2015, Bruce mentioned he was moving on from the Tron series. He felt it was time for new challenges in his career.
Other Work
Besides acting, Bruce Boxleitner has also worked as a model. From 1986 to 1989, he appeared in ads for Estee Lauder's "Lauder For Men."
He is also a writer. He has written two science fiction novels with a Western theme. These books are Frontier Earth (1999) and Searcher (2001). Bruce has also lent his voice to audio books. He played a role in The Great Secret and Captain Gavin Blaire in World War Z.
Personal Life
Bruce Boxleitner has been married three times and has three children. His first marriage was to actress Kathryn Holcomb. They had two sons together. His second marriage was to actress Melissa Gilbert, and they have one son.
In 2003, Bruce Boxleitner was chosen to join the Board of Governors for the National Space Society. This is a group that supports space exploration and education. He was also good friends with actress Beverly Garland for many years.
Bruce is currently married to publicist Verena King.
