Katherine Roberts is an English author. She is well-known for her exciting fantasy books. Her most famous series is the trilogy called The Echorium Sequence. Katherine spent most of her childhood in Devon and Cornwall, which are beautiful parts of England.

Katherine Roberts' Early Life and Education

Katherine Roberts grew up in Devon and Cornwall. She went to school in different towns there. First, she attended an infant school in Redruth in Cornwall. Later, she went to Oldway County Primary School in Paignton, Devon. She also studied at Torquay Grammar School for Girls in Devon.

After finishing school, Katherine went to the University of Bath. She earned a degree in Mathematics there. Before becoming a full-time writer, she had many interesting jobs. She worked with computers, cared for racehorses, and even worked in a pet shop!

Exploring Katherine Roberts' Writing Career

Katherine Roberts started her writing journey in 1999. Her first book, Song Quest, was published that year. This book was very special because it won the Branford Boase Award for children's books! She continued the series with Crystal Mask in 2001 and Dark Quetzal in 2003.

The Seven Fabulous Wonders Series

In 2001, Katherine began another popular series called The Seven Fabulous Wonders. The first book was The Great Pyramid Robbery. The Sunday Express newspaper called it "A terrific tale of plots, curses and evil forces set in ancient Egypt."

She then published The Babylon Game in 2002. A review said it had "Incredible... adventures that twist and turn and will have you spellbound on every page." The same year, The Amazon Temple Quest came out.

More books in the series followed, including The Mausoleum Murder (2003), The Olympic Conspiracy (2004), and The Colossus Crisis (2005). The exciting series finished in 2006 with the seventh book, The Cleopatra Curse.

Other Fantastic Books by Katherine Roberts

Katherine Roberts has written other amazing stories too. One of them is Spellfall. The Sunday Times said this book teaches kids about taking responsibility. She also wrote a sequel called Spell Spring in 2016.

Another epic novel she wrote is I Am the Great Horse (2006). This book tells the story of Alexander the Great from the point of view of his horse! Katherine mainly writes books in the fantasy style.

Since 2014, Katherine has also worked as a Royal Literary Fund Fellow. She helps university students improve their academic writing skills.
