Katherine's Early Life

Katherine Eunice Schwarzenegger is the oldest child of famous actor and former politician Arnold Schwarzenegger. Her mother is journalist and author Maria Shriver. Katherine's family has roots in Ireland and Germany through her grandparents, Eunice and Sargent Shriver. She has a younger sister named Christina, and two younger brothers, Patrick and Christopher. She also has a half-brother, Joseph Baena.

Katherine graduated from the University of Southern California in 2012.

In 2010, Katherine wrote her first book, Rock What You've Got. This book helps young women feel good about themselves. It shares her own journey to self-confidence and encourages a positive self-image. She once struggled with how she saw her body. Now she focuses on being healthy and happy through exercise like walking and yoga.

After college in 2012, Katherine sought advice from many successful people. She talked to athletes, singers, and business owners. She put their wisdom into her second book, I Just Graduated . . . Now What?. This book, released in 2014, is like a "survival guide" for new college graduates.

In 2017, Katherine wrote a children's book called Maverick and Me. It tells the true story of how she rescued and adopted her dog, Maverick. Katherine Schwarzenegger started dating actor Chris Pratt in 2018. They announced their engagement in January 2019. They got married in June of the same year. They have two daughters, Lyla Maria, born in August 2020, and Eloise Christina, born in May 2022. They also have a son, Ford Fitzgerald, born in November 2024.

Katherine is an ambassador for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She also supports the Best Friends Animal Society. Both she and her husband, Chris Pratt, are Global Ambassadors for Special Olympics. This organization helps people with intellectual disabilities through sports.
