Kathryn Lasky (born June 24, 1944) is an American writer. She is well-known for her many books for children and young adults. Some of her popular series include Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Dear America, and The Royal Diaries. She has won several awards, such as the Anne V. Zarrow Award for Young Readers' Literature and a Newbery Honor.

About Kathryn Lasky
Kathryn Lasky grew up in Indianapolis, a city in Indiana. She is married to Christopher Knight, and they live in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kathryn studied English at the University of Michigan. She also earned a master's degree in early childhood education from Wheelock College.
Kathryn Lasky has written more than one hundred books. Her most famous book series is Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Over 8 million copies of these books have been sold! Her stories have been translated into 19 different languages around the world. In 2011, she won the Anne V. Zarrow Award for Young Readers' Literature. This award celebrates authors who write for young readers.
