Kathryn Sarah Collins Jupe (born on December 12, 1973), known as Katy Cavanagh, is an English actress. She is famous for playing Julie Carp in the TV show Coronation Street from 2008 to 2015, and she returned to the role in 2025. She also had important parts in other TV dramas like The Cops (1998–2001) and Bob & Rose (2001).

Katy Cavanagh was born in North Shields, England. Her mom was a drama teacher, and her dad was a headmaster. Katy grew up in Bolton, Lancashire. She went to Canon Slade School and later studied acting at RADA and the National Youth Theatre. These are well-known places for actors to train.

Acting Career Highlights

Katy Cavanagh started acting on British television in 1997. She had a regular role as Mel in the TV series The Cops from 1998 to 2001. In 2004, she played Sergeant Dawn "Spike" Milligan in Dalziel and Pascoe.

One of her most well-known roles was Julie Carp in the popular TV show Coronation Street. She joined the show in 2008 and became a favorite character. In February 2015, it was announced that she would leave Coronation Street to try other acting projects. Her last episode at that time was on July 3, 2015. However, Katy Cavanagh returned to Coronation Street in 2025.

She also appeared in an episode of the drama Shameless in 2006. In November 2017, she was in a comedy TV movie called Murder on the Blackpool Express.

Family Life

Katy Cavanagh is married to a filmmaker named Chris Jupe. They have three children together. One of their children is Noah Jupe, who is also a well-known actor.
