Kavadikaranoor (also spelled as Kavadikaranur) is a village located in the Edappadi area of Salem district in Tamil Nadu, India. It is close to Konganapuram, a place well-known for growing raw cotton. People in Kavadikaranoor have different ways of earning a living. It is the biggest village in the areas of Thangayur and Kurumbapatti panchayats. The rocks found in western Kavadikaranoor are thought to contain rare minerals and a lot of granite. Many stone quarrying companies have been working here for over 30 years.

Exploring Kavadikaranoor's Landscape
Kavadikaranoor is a village located at a height of about 298 meters (978 feet) above sea level. It is found on the eastern side of a hill called 'Sooriya malai', which means 'Mountain of Sun'. Old stories say that the Pandavas, famous characters from ancient tales, lived on top of this hill for a year during their time in the forest. This mountain still has very few plants because of its rocky and unusual features. Scientists from Periyar University have found that these rocks contain rare radioactive minerals.
The village has a beautiful viewing spot called 'Koonamori'. From here, you can see the nearby town of Edappadi. Aachampalli yeri (lake) is located in the northeastern part of the village and helps water the nearby farms.

Kavadikaranoor is located about 6 kilometers before Idappadi and 3 kilometers after Konganapuram in Salem district. The village covers an area of 9.77 square kilometers. As of 2001, it had a population of 1,812 people. The main ways people earn money in the village are through farming and transporting goods using trucks.
Discovering the Village Temple
The village is home to the famous Sri Paali Perumal Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is well-known in the surrounding area. The main festival times are in October and April. On the fourth Saturday of the Purattasi Tamil month, also known as Purattasi Sani or Tirumala Shanivaralu, more than 20,000 people come to worship here.
