Kavalga Island (Aleut: Qavalĝa) is a small island in Alaska, United States. It is part of the Delarof Islands group. These islands are found within the larger Andreanof Islands chain. Kavalga Island is located in the Bering Sea.
The island is about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) long. Its highest point reaches 40 meters (131 feet) above the sea. Kavalga sits between two other islands. Unalga is to its west, and Ogliuga is to its east.
Animals of Kavalga Island
Kavalga Island is home to different kinds of wildlife. You can find ground squirrels living here. These small animals are also known as Marmotini. The island is also a home for many types of sea birds. These birds use the island as a place to rest and nest.
