Kazuki Teshima (手島 和希, Teshima Kazuki, born June 7, 1979) is a former Japanese football player. He was born in Iizuka, Fukuoka, on June 7, 1979. Teshima played as a defender, a key position in football that helps protect the team's goal. He played for several clubs during his career and also represented his country in youth tournaments.

Club Football Journey

Kazuki Teshima began his professional football career in 1998. After finishing high school, he joined Yokohama Flügels. However, this club faced financial problems and was closed down at the end of 1998.

Moving to Kyoto Sanga FC

In 1999, Teshima moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga. This club later changed its name to Kyoto Sanga FC. He joined with other players like Yasuhito Endo and Shigeki Tsujimoto. Teshima became an important player for Kyoto, often playing as a center back. A center back is a defender who plays in the middle of the defense. Their job is to stop opposing players from scoring goals.

Winning the Emperor's Cup

With Kyoto Sanga FC, Teshima achieved a big success. The team won the 2002 Emperor's Cup in 2002. This is a major football tournament in Japan. He played many matches for the club during this time.

Time at Gamba Osaka

In 2006, Teshima moved to a bigger club, Gamba Osaka. However, he did not get to play in any matches there. He returned to Kyoto Sanga FC in April 2006. He continued to play for Kyoto until 2009.

Retirement from Football

By 2009, Teshima found fewer chances to play in matches. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2009 season. He had a long career, playing many games as a defender.

National Team Experience

In April 1999, Kazuki Teshima was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. This team participated in the 1999 World Youth Championship. This is a big international tournament for young players.
