Kazumi Tsubota (坪田 和美, Tsubota Kazumi, born January 23, 1956) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented goalkeeper who played for a well-known club. Tsubota also had the honor of playing for the Japan national team.

Kazumi Tsubota's Club Career
Playing for Yanmar Diesel
Kazumi Tsubota was born in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, on January 23, 1956. After finishing his studies at Hosei University, he joined the football club Yanmar Diesel in 1979.
His time with Yanmar Diesel was very successful. The club won the league championship in 1981. They also won the JSL Cup twice, in 1983 and 1984. Tsubota played many games for his club. He appeared in 170 league matches before he retired from playing in 1992.
Representing His Country
Playing for Japan's National Team
Kazumi Tsubota also played for the Japan national team. His first game for Japan was on March 8, 1981, against South Korea.
He continued to play for his country in important matches. In 1983 and 1984, he was part of the team trying to qualify for the 1984 Summer Olympics. Tsubota played a total of 7 games for the Japan national team before his international career ended in 1984.
