Petkevičius played for some big basketball teams. He started his career playing for Žalgiris in Kaunas, Lithuania. Later, he moved to play for Spartak Leningrad in Russia. His time with the Soviet Union's national team was very successful. He helped them win two silver medals at the Olympics. He also won two gold medals and one bronze medal at the European Championships.

Coaching and Later Life

Even after his playing days, Kazys Petkevičius stayed involved in basketball. He worked as an assistant coach for a Lithuanian basketball club. This club was called Žalgiris-Arvydas Sabonis school.
