Early Life and Music Beginnings
Keak da Sneak was born in Brewton, Alabama. When he was a baby, his family moved to Oakland, California. He became popular at Allendale Elementary School. This helped him make friends and perform in talent shows. He performed at Oakland's Bret Harte Junior High. There, he met another artist named Agerman.
Building a Music Career
Keak and Agerman formed a group called Dual Committee. Keak was 15 years old at the time. Their first songs were "Murder Man" and "Stompin in My Steel Toes." These songs appeared on C-BO's 1994 music release, The Autopsy. Later, Keak signed a solo deal with Moe Doe Records. This record label was based in Sacramento, California. This new deal helped his music get played more often on the radio. Especially on the hip-hop station KMEL in San Francisco.
Joining 3X Krazy
By the end of high school, Keak and Agerman teamed up with rapper B.A. They formed a new group called 3X Krazy. Their first collection of songs, Sick-O, came out on August 5, 1995. It was released by themselves.
In 1996, the group signed with Virgin Records. They released the album Stackin' Chips on March 8, 1997. A song called "Keep It on the Real" helped this album get national attention. They then released Immortalized. Their next album, Real Talk 2000, came out on January 18, 2000. The last 3X Krazy album was flowamatic-9 in 2004. It had old and remixed songs from Sick-O. The group later decided to go their separate ways.
Solo Success and Hyphy Movement
After working in the music scene for many years, Keak started to gain more widespread fame. This happened in 2004 with his song Super Hyphy.
