Keanan Duffty (born April 28, 1964) is a British fashion designer and musician. He lives in New York City. Keanan studied fashion design at Saint Martin's School of Art in London. He is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. He also teaches fashion at Polimoda and Parsons School of Design.

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Keanan Duffty was a founding member of a British punk band called Sordid Details in 1978. They were inspired by the Sex Pistols. Later, Keanan would even design clothes for the Sex Pistols' stage shows.

In 1980, Keanan started a New Romantic band called Wonder Stories. They got good reviews and played live shows. By 1982, Keanan moved to London to study fashion. He also worked at a cool London fashion store called PX.

A music expert named Falcon Stuart helped Keanan start his music career. Keanan released a dance song called "Water Sport" in 1985. This song became a club hit in the UK. It was even named "record of the week" in a popular magazine called Smash Hits.

In 1993, Keanan moved to New York. There, he recorded a song called "I Am An Alien." The music video for this song featured a famous performer named Amanda Lepore.

Fashion Design

Keanan Duffty started his own fashion label and design studio in 1999. His clothing designs are inspired by different youth cultures and music. They mix fancy fashion with cool, rebellious styles. Many famous stores sold his clothes, like Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdales.

Many celebrities wore Keanan's designs, including David Bowie. In 2001, Keanan designed a special space suit. It was worn by Martha Stewart in a TV commercial.

In 2007, Keanan worked with David Bowie again. They created a special collection of clothes for Target stores.

Keanan Duffty is the lead singer of the band Slinky Vagabond. Other members have included Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols and Clem Burke from Blondie. The band first performed in 2007 at Joey Ramone's birthday party.

In 2008, a video game called PopStar Guitar featured a song by Slinky Vagabond. The song was called "Glitterbug."

Keanan has also performed at many special music events. In 2007, he sang at a tribute concert for Marc Bolan. Other famous artists like Patti Smith and the New York Dolls were also there. In 2008, he performed at the opening of a John Varvatos store. This store was in the old building of the famous music club CBGB's. He shared the stage with musicians like Slash and Joan Jett.

In 2012, Keanan released an album called Killers in Glitter. It included his older songs and music from Slinky Vagabond. He also covered songs by David Bowie and Bauhaus. His most recent album, Total Dragon Pop, came out in 2014. On this album, he covered songs by Katy Perry and Joy Division.

Television Appearances

Keanan Duffty hosted a TV show called The Juice in 2008. On the show, he interviewed many famous people. These included writers, fashion designers, and actors. He has also appeared on other TV shows like TLC’s Faking It. He has been featured on MTV and other entertainment channels.

Rebel Rebel-Anti Style Book

Velvet Revolver Project
